Reza_BaharWhile studying economic science at the University of Cologne, Reza Bahar founded a PLC to advise broadcasters and production companies in the field of interactive entertainment concepts. In 2002 he and his company produced their first film. Between 2002 and 2004, infected by the job as producer, he worked on numerous national and international cinema and TV productions in a number of positions. After his participation in the Berlinale Talent Campus 2004 as a “Producer Talent” he began studying at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy, specialising in international producing. In 2005 he founded Gifted Films. His project-based course was part of the German-French Masterclass. In 2007 he was nominated for the production prize at the Sehsüchte International Student Film Festival. Reza Bahar graduated from the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy in 2008 with a diploma in “International Producing”. The same year he received a VGF grant for his company Gifted Films. His co-production TEENAGE ANGST was screened at the Berlin Film Festival in 2008 and theatrically released in early 2009. The film was also pre-selected for the Student Academy Awards. In early 2009 Reza Bahar and Nicole Ringhut founded the production company Maranto Films in Cologne. In 2010 he was executive producer for Wild Bunch on the international co-production LARGO WINCH 2 with Sharon Stone. The same year he also produced the feature film BASTARD, which opens the 45th Hof International Film Festival. In early 2012 shooting beguns on his latest project THE NUN, a French-German-Belgian co-production with Isabelle Huppert and Martina Gedeck which was in the official competition of the the Berlin Film Festival 2013. The French-German-Egyptian co-production ROUND TRIP (RELEH) has had its world premier at the official competition of the 2012 Dubai International Film Festival.
